HCLTech is seeking an experienced Enterprise Monitoring Tools & Platform Specialist for its Noida location. The role will engineer, administer, integrate and optimise multiple monitoring and observability platforms, translate operational requirements into governed platform capabilities and improve monitoring coverage, platform health, alert quality, availability and restoration performance Key Responsibilities Engineer, administer, integrate and optimise multiple enterprise monitoring and observability platforms across infrastructure, applications, cloud, network, database, middleware and security domains. Design scalable telemetry, service visibility, event-management, automation, resilience and security solutions using sound technical judgement. Onboard services and technologies through governed monitoring standards, dashboards, topology, synthetic checks, anomaly detection and actionable alerts. Resolve complex cross-platform platform-health, ingestion, integration, performance, capacity, availability, access, licensing and security issues with limited supervision. Integrate monitoring with ITSM, CMDB, AIOps, DevOps, cloud, security and notification ecosystems using APIs, connectors, scripts and workflows. Provide technical guidance to internal teams and vendors while driving measurable improvement in coverage, platform health, alert quality, availability, MTTD, MTTA and MTTR. Skill Requirements Technical Profile – Enterprise Monitoring Tools & Platform Specialist Core technical skills: 1. Enterprise Monitoring and Observability Engineering: Strong hands-on capability to implement, configure, administer, upgrade, and optimize enterprise monitoring platforms across infrastructure, applications, cloud, network, databases, middleware, logs, synthetic monitoring, digital experience, and event management. 2. Multi-Platform Technical Breadth: Proven ability to work across multiple technologies and vendor platforms—such as SolarWinds, Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic/ELK, Splunk, ThousandEyes, NNMi, Azure Monitor, and AWS CloudWatch—supported by working knowledge of Windows, Linux, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, networking, databases, middleware, and public cloud. 3. Monitoring Design and Service Visibility: Ability to design monitoring rules, telemetry standards for metrics, logs, traces, and events, service maps, topology models, dashboards, synthetic checks, dynamic baselines, anomaly detection, and alerting frameworks that provide end-to-end visibility of business services and cross-domain dependencies. 4. Integration, Automation, and Platform Engineering: Practical experience integrating monitoring platforms with ITSM, CMDB, AIOps, DevOps, cloud, security, notification, and automation ecosystems using APIs, connectors, scripts, workflows, configuration-as-code, version control, testing, and release governance. 5. Advanced Troubleshooting and Performance Improvement: Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex cross-platform issues involving telemetry gaps, data ingestion, integrations, performance, capacity, availability, access, licensing, resilience, and security, while improving monitoring coverage, platform health, actionable-event rate, alert quality, service availability, MTTD, MTTA, and MTTR. Other Requirements DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS At least one current professional-level certification in Datadog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, SolarWinds, Elastic, New Relic, Grafana or an equivalent monitoring/observability platform. A relevant administrator, engineer or architect certification from Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud. ITIL 4 Foundation is required; an advanced ITIL practice certification covering Monitoring and Event Management, Incident Management or Service Configuration Management is preferred. A recognised certification in DevOps, site reliability engineering, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, scripting or automation is preferred. A foundational or professional certification in enterprise networking or cybersecurity, such as Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft or equivalent, is preferred. PROFICIENCY EXPECTATIONS Advanced Practitioner: Independently engineers, administers, integrates and optimises multiple enterprise monitoring and observability platforms across infrastructure, applications, cloud, network, database, middleware and security domains. Applies deep technical judgement to design scalable telemetry, service visibility, event-management, automation, resilience and security solutions. Resolves complex cross-platform issues with limited supervision and provides technical guidance to internal teams and vendors. Translates operational and business requirements into governed platform capabilities, drives service onboarding and continuous improvement, and demonstrates measurable impact through improved coverage, platform health, alert quality, availability, MTTD, MTTA and MTTR. CANDIDATE CAPABILITIES Strong ownership, analytical thinking and communication skills in a business-critical enterprise environment. Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, implementation evidence and improvement plans. Ability to collaborate effectively with application, infrastructure, security, service-management and vendor teams.
