Job description

Your Job The PIC Testing Engineer is responsible for optical and electrical characterization of silicon photonics components. This role bridges design and testing by validating device performance, providing feedback to design and process teams, and developing measurement methodologies and test setups for photonic devices. Our Team R&D Component What You Will Do Perform optical/electrical characterization and validation of silicon photonics components using lab instrumentation. Develop, refine, and document test methodologies, setups, and validation procedures to ensure repeatable and reliable measurements. Analyze test data, identify trends/anomalies, and provide actionable feedback to design and process teams for device improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to define device specifications, test conditions, and validation methods. Support test program development and interface tuning as needed to improve measurement accuracy, data quality, and usability in the lab. Maintain clear test records, datasets, and documentation for traceability and knowledge reuse. This position requires flexibility to support the second shift based on project and operational needs. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Optoelectronics, Physics, or a related field. Hands-on experience in optical and/or electrical testing and device characterization (semiconductor or optoelectronic devices). Solid understanding of measurement fundamentals (repeatability, uncertainty, calibration) and experimental best practices. Proficiency with optical/electrical test equipment (e.g., laser source, OSA, optical power meter, VOA, photodetector/receiver, probe station, SMU, oscilloscope, VNA). Strong data analysis skills (Excel required; Python/MATLAB or LabVIEW is a plus). What Will Put You Ahead Silicon photonics/PIC component characterization experience (e.g., grating couplers, waveguides, MZI/MZM, photodiodes). Experience building stable optical setups and improving measurement robustness (alignment, drift control, repeatability). Familiarity with DOE basics or statistical methods for characterization/correlation analysis. Proficiency in English for technical documentation and cross-team communication.
