Job description
Who are we? At Finastra, we’re a global leader in financial services software, dedicated to expanding access to financial services and shaping what’s next for the industry. Our technology powers mission‑critical solutions across Lending, Payments and Universal Banking, supporting over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, in more than 110 countries. What will you contribute? We’re looking for a Director of Accounting to lead group consolidation and support month-end close for a global, multi-entity organization. This is a high-impact role at the center of the close—partnering with Corporate Accounting, driving the final consolidation, and delivering accurate, timely results under US GAAP, IFRS, and internal policy. You’ll own flux analysis, cash flow reporting, and global statutory accounting. You’ll also tackle complex accounting issues, shape stronger processes, and develop a talented team. Expect broad exposure to finance leaders, auditors, and business partners across the organization. Responsibilities & Deliverables: Your deliverables will include, but are not limited to, the following: Drive group consolidation: Lead the end-to-end process, including intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and consolidation adjustments. Set clear standards for execution and documentation. Keep close moving: Partner with Corporate Accounting on timelines, hand-offs, and open items. Surface issues early and clear roadblocks fast. Deliver the final close: Review and approve topside and consolidation entries. Resolve complex matters and deliver accurate results on schedule. Turn movement into insight: Own monthly accounting flux analysis of the balance sheet and P&L. Give leaders clear commentary on significant variances. Own cash flow reporting: Deliver the consolidated cash flow statement and supporting analysis. Ensure accuracy and proper classification under US GAAP and IFRS. Solve complex accounting issues: Support research and policy work across intercompany and non-routine transactions, including software capitalization, leases, and debt. Lead global statutory reporting: Set the approach for statutory filings and align local requirements with group accounting policy. Deliver public-company-caliber reporting: Drive financial reporting to demanding deadlines with the rigor, controls, and precision expected in a public-company environment. Enable strong reporting: Provide consolidated results, analysis, and technical input for external and management reporting. Lead through audit: Own audit requests across consolidation, close, and statutory reporting. Drive timely resolution of findings. Raise the control bar: Strengthen controls over consolidation, close, flux, and cash flow. Lead remediation when gaps arise. Transform the reporting engine: Lead the evolution of consolidation and Workiva reporting. Simplify workflows, strengthen controls, and improve speed, scalability, and data quality. Champion AI adoption: Turn practical AI use cases into better accounting outcomes. Build team capability, embed responsible adoption, and accelerate high-value work. Build a high-performing team: Set priorities, elevate work quality, and deepen the team’s consolidation and technical accounting capabilities. Required Experience: Significant group consolidation experience in a large, complex organization—ideally $1B+ in revenue—with deep knowledge of intercompany eliminations and multi-currency consolidation. Proven leadership of financial reporting in a public company—or an equally rigorous reporting environment—with a track record of meeting compressed external reporting timelines without compromising accuracy or controls. Strong, hands-on command of US GAAP and IFRS, particularly consolidation, foreign currency, cash flow presentation, leases, debt, and financial instruments. A track record of leading period-end close and consolidation across a multinational, multi-entity environment. Experience preparing consolidated cash flow statements and translating variance analysis into leadership-ready insights. Experience leading statutory accounting and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. Strong knowledge of ICFR, including SOX or a comparable framework, and experience remediating control deficiencies. Confidence working directly with external auditors and resolving complex requests. Familiarity with ERP, consolidation, and reporting platforms such as NetSuite and Workiva—or comparable systems. Required: Active CPA license and public accounting experience (Big Four experience preferred). What sets you apart:Decisive technical judgment: You cut through ambiguity, apply the right guidance, and document a clear position. Talent-building leadership: You set a high bar, create accountability, and help people grow. Influence without friction: You align teams, sharpen hand-offs, and keep close on track. Executive-ready insight: You turn variances and cash flow movements into a clear story. Calm under pressure: You prioritize well across close, audit, and statutory deadlines. A builder’s mindset: You simplify, automate, and continuously improve how work gets done. Trusted execution: You bring integrity, precision, and sound risk judgment. Global agility: You work effectively across time zones and distributed teams. We are proud to offer a range of incentives to our employees worldwide. These benefits are available to everyone, regardless of grade, and reflect the values we stand for: Flexibility: Enjoy unlimited vacation, subject to local regulations and business priorities. Benefit from hybrid working arrangements and inclusive policies such as paid time off for voting, bereavement, and sick leave.
