McKesson is seeking a Lead Software Developer to lead the design and delivery of modern digital platforms that power customer engagement, customer data intelligence, search experiences, analytics, and business-critical healthcare solutions. This role provides technical leadership across cloud-native application development, API and microservices engineering, customer data platform capabilities, AI-enabled solutions, and event-driven architectures. You will partner with engineering, product, architecture, security, and business teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing digital products that enhance customer experiences and accelerate innovation. What You'll Do Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions across customer experience and digital platform ecosystems. Drive API-first, microservices-based, and cloud-native engineering practices using modern technologies and platforms. Design and evolve Customer Data Platform (CDP) capabilities supporting customer insights, transaction analysis, behavioral analytics, and personalization. Build scalable applications using Java, .NET, Node.js, React, Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Lead development of event-driven and composable architectures leveraging Azure and/or AWS cloud services. Establish engineering excellence through CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, reliability engineering, and performance optimization. Champion AI-assisted development, automation tools, machine learning solutions, and intelligent search capabilities. Mentor engineers, influence technical strategy, and drive adoption of enterprise engineering standards and best practices. Basic Requirements 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with enterprise-scale application development and architecture leadership. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Experience developing enterprise applications using Java, .NET, Node.js, or similar enterprise platforms. Experience building modern front-end applications using React, Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices architectures. Experience delivering cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or comparable cloud platforms. Experience with Kubernetes, containerization technologies, and modern deployment practices. Experience with Git-based source control platforms including GitHub and/or Azure DevOps. Preferred Skills/Experience Experience designing and implementing Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and customer intelligence solutions. Experience with customer analytics, behavioral analysis, transaction data processing, and personalization platforms. Expertise in event-driven architecture, messaging platforms, and distributed systems design. Experience with AI, machine learning, generative AI, and intelligent automation solutions. Experience building enterprise search, recommendation, analytics, or decision-support platforms. Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies. Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, observability, and site reliability engineering. Experience leading large-scale modernization, digital transformation, and performance engineering initiatives. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
