Job description

We are looking for an experienced GCP Data Architect to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms on Google Cloud. This role will drive architecture decisions, enable data-driven solutions, and ensure best practices across data engineering and analytics ecosystems. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable data architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Build and optimize batch and real-time data pipelines using: Google Cloud Dataflow Google Cloud Pub/Sub BigQuery Architect and manage data storage solutions using: Google Cloud Storage (GCS) BigQuery Cloud SQL / Firestore Develop robust data models and data warehousing solutions (OLTP/OLAP). Lead data integration and ETL/ELT frameworks ensuring performance and scalability. Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across systems. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to translate requirements into solutions. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability. Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and define engineering standards. Stay updated with evolving GCP services, architecture patterns, and best practices. Skill Requirements Experience 10+ years in Data Engineering / Data Architecture Strong hands-on experience in GCP ecosystem Core Technical Skills GCP Services: BigQuery (must-have) Dataflow (Apache Beam) Pub/Sub Cloud Storage Cloud SQL / Firestore Expertise in: Data Warehousing & Data Modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas) ETL/ELT pipeline design Real-time & batch processing frameworks Programming: Python, SQL (mandatory) Strong understanding of: Distributed systems Performance optimization techniques Architecture & Design Ability to design end-to-end data platforms Experience in defining: Data governance frameworks Metadata & lineage strategies Security & access control models Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Excellent stakeholder communication Ability to work independently and lead teams Other Requirements 1.Relevant certifications in Google BigQuery, SQL, Python, Google Dataflow, or CA Erwin Data Modeler would be a plus. GCP Certifications: Professional Data Engineer Professional Cloud Architect Experience with: Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark) Machine Learning / AI pipelines Exposure to: CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Data orchestration tools (Airflow, Composer) Key Competencies Solution Architecture & Design Thinking Scalability & Performance Optimization Stakeholder Management Leadership & Mentorship Process and Governance Orientation Good to Have Experience working in enterprise-scale data environments Knowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid architectures Domain exposure (Healthcare, Retail, Finance, etc.) Apply now Information at a Glance Why HCLTech?
