As Assistant Controller, you will lead Molex’s global record-to-report and controllership organization and help ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company’s financial results. You will create value by providing leadership across close and consolidation, financial reporting, internal controls, complex accounting, acquisition integration, and finance transformation. This role combines technical accounting judgment, operational execution, transformation leadership, and leadership of a large, globally distributed organization, with a focus on building strong teams, supporting growth, and advancing the use of technology, automation, and AI. You will partner across Business Finance, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Global Process Owners, financial systems teams, and external audit to build a stronger and more scalable controllership organization. This role is based in Lisle or Chicago and reports to the Vice President – Corporate Finance. Our Team You will lead a multi-regional record-to-report organization of more than 250 individuals supporting Molex’s global financial operations. The team is responsible for accurate books, a controlled and timely close, reliable financial reporting, strong internal controls, and balance-sheet integrity, while also supporting technical accounting and acquisition integration. We value leaders who exercise sound judgment, challenge constructively, build and motivate strong teams, and use standardization, technology, data, and automation to improve how work is delivered. What You Will Do Lead, coach, and develop a multi-regional organization of more than 250 employees, including 6–8 direct reports. Establish clear decision rights, strengthen succession planning, and build capability across accounting, controls, systems, reporting, and business partnership. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidation processes, establishing clear expectations for timing, accuracy, communication, issue escalation, and accountability across regions. Oversee financial reporting and significant record-to-report activities, including general ledger, intercompany, cash and banking, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and account reconciliations. Drive transformation through the adoption of cutting-edge technology, process improvement, and creative destruction. Maintain balance-sheet integrity through strong account reconciliation governance, variance analysis, timely resolution of aged or unusual balances, and clear accounting ownership. Provide leadership on significant, judgmental, and technically complex accounting matters, including acquisitions, purchase accounting, impairments, restructuring, functional currency, foreign exchange, hedge accounting, leases, pensions, reserves, and other complex transactions. Ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP, Molex and Koch accounting policies, and internal control requirements. Lead controllership workstreams for acquisitions and major organizational changes, including opening balances, reporting structures, system requirements, controls, and integration into the finance operating model. Provide senior-level controllership support for internal and external audits, statutory reporting, and subconsolidation requirements. Lead controllership participation in finance systems transformations, driving standardization, automation, and simplification across CFIN, OneStream, BlackLine, Snowflake, and related tools. Partner with regional controllers, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Finance Solutions, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Business Finance, Global Process Owners, and external advisors to resolve issues, strengthen controls, and improve reporting quality. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Significant progressive experience in controllership, accounting, or financial reporting within a complex organization. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to apply accounting judgment to complex and non-routine transactions. Experience leading large, complex accounting or finance organizations across multiple geographies, business units, and/or capabilities. Demonstrated experience overseeing core controllership activities, including financial close, consolidation, internal controls, audit, and balance-sheet governance. Experience influencing senior finance and business leaders across organizational boundaries. Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, prioritization, and change-leadership skills. What Will Put You Ahead CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation. Experience in global manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex multinational operations. Experience leading acquisition integration, purchase accounting, restructuring, or major operating-model transformation. Experience with enterprise financial systems and transformation initiatives, including SAP, CFIN, OneStream, BlackLine, Snowflake, or comparable platforms. Big Four public accounting or significant external-audit engagement experience. Proven success developing leaders, building succession plans, and scaling shared-services or regional controllership capabilities.
