Sr Technical Support Engineer - Electromagnetism United States Off-site Apply Now Category Engineering Remote Eligible Yes Hire Type Employee Job ID 19500 Base Salary Range $76000-$114000 Date posted 11.02.2026 Share this job Email LinkedIn X Facebook We Are Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow. You Are You have spent enough time in electromagnetics simulation to know that the hardest part is not running the solver, it is helping someone understand why their S-parameters look wrong at 28 GHz or why their eye diagram is closing before they hit compliance. You think in workflows, not features. When a customer describes a signal integrity problem, you are already mapping it to HFSS setup decisions, meshing strategy, and whether they actually need a full 3D solve or if a 2.5D approach in SIwave will get them there faster. You do not need a perfect problem statement to be useful. Someone sends you a model with crosstalk issues and a vague description, and you ask three questions that get to the actual design constraint they are working under. You have debugged enough simulations to recognize when the issue is tool configuration, when it is physics, and when it is a misunderstanding of what the simulation is actually telling them. You care about the outcome, not just the answer. Closing a ticket matters less to you than knowing the customer can now run that analysis on their own next time. At Synopsys, you will work directly with engineers solving real signal integrity, power integrity, and high-frequency design problems using tools that matter in production workflows. What You'll Be Doing Provide technical support to customers using Ansys AEDT, HFSS, HFSS 3D Layout, SIwave, Q3D, and AEDT Circuit for electromagnetics and electronics simulation Troubleshoot signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk, impedance, and eye-diagram analysis issues across package, PCB, and connector design workflows Guide customers through simulation setup, meshing strategy, solver selection, and post-processing to help them reach valid, actionable results Document product issues, submit defect reports with reproducible test cases, verify fixes, and participate in field testing of new software releases Evaluate new releases using real customer use cases to assess readiness, usability, and alignment with industrial application requirements Collaborate with product development, field teams, and senior support engineers to relay customer workflow insights and technical feedback that shape product direction Contribute to internal knowledge base, create enablement content, and support process improvements within the Customer Excellence organization The Impact You Will Have Reduce time to resolution for customers facing critical simulation roadblocks on active design projects Enable successful adoption of Synopsys electromagnetics solutions across signal integrity, power integrity, and high-frequency design applications Surface real-world usability issues and workflow gaps that directly inform product development priorities and release quality Build repeatable, documented solutions that scale support capability across the team and reduce future case volume Strengthen customer confidence in Synopsys tools by delivering technically sound guidance that translates into design wins Improve product quality by identifying, reproducing, and validating fixes for defects discovered in production customer environments Accelerate release readiness through structured testing and feedback loops tied to actual customer workflows What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field with coursework or focus in high-frequency electromagnetics; Master's degree is a plus Hands-on experience with Ansys HFSS, SIwave, or comparable CAE, CAD, or EDA simulation platforms in a design or support context Working knowledge in at least one of the following areas: signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk analysis, impedance simulation, or eye-diagram analysis Understanding of circuit-level and timing analysis for signal integrity applications, including familiarity with relevant compliance standards Experience with package, PCB, or connector design workflows and the engineering processes that surround them Familiarity with microwave and antenna fundamentals including S-parameters, wave propagation, and scattering analysis U.S. work authorization required; U.S. citizenship preferred where required by customer, export control, or government contract requirements Who You Are <ul style='--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-pan-x: ; --tw-pan-y: ; --tw-pinch-zoom: ; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-gradient-from-position: ; --tw-gradient-via-position: ; --tw-gradient-to-position: ; --tw-ordinal: ; --tw-slashed-zero: ; --tw-numeric-figure: ; --tw-numeric-spacing: ; --tw-numeric-fraction: ; --tw-ring-inset: ; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-color: rgb(59 130 246/0.5); --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 #0000; --tw-blur: ; --tw-brightness: ; --tw-contrast: ; --tw-grayscale: ; --tw-hue-rotate: ; --tw-invert: ; --tw-saturate: ; --tw-sepia: ; --tw-drop-shadow: ; --tw-backdrop-blur: ; --tw-backdrop-brightness: ; --tw-backdrop-contrast: ; --tw-backdrop-grayscale: ; --tw-backdrop-hue-rotate: ; --tw-backdrop-invert: ; --tw-backdrop-opacity: ; --tw-backdrop-saturate: ; --tw-backdrop-sepia: ; --tw-contain-size: ; --tw-contain-layout: ; --tw-contain-paint: ; --tw-contain-style: ; box-sizing: border-box; border: 0px solid rgb(229, 231, 235); list-style-position: initial; list-style-image: initial; list-style-type: revert; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 1.5rem; color: rgb(16, 27, 35); font-family: Roboto, "Roboto Fallback"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-
