Job description

We are seeking an experienced eCommerce Frontend Technical Lead to drive the architecture, development, modernization, and performance optimization of global digital commerce experiences. This role requires deep expertise in eCommerce platforms and customer journeys , with strong hands-on capabilities in Next.js , Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS) , React , and Progressive Web Applications (PWA) . The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across the frontend commerce landscape, define scalable architecture patterns, drive engineering excellence, and lead the evolution from traditional Adobe Commerce/Magento storefronts to a modern composable architecture leveraging ACCS, EDS, API Mesh, and App Builder . A critical aspect of the role is defining and governing the end-to-end caching and performance strategy across the commerce ecosystem to ensure scalability, resilience, and exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture Serve as the technical authority for frontend eCommerce architecture and engineering practices. Define and govern frontend architecture, coding standards, design patterns, and technical roadmaps. Lead architecture reviews, solution design workshops, and technical decision-making. Drive modernization initiatives from traditional Magento implementations to composable commerce architectures. Mentor and coach engineers, technical leads, and development teams. Establish reusable frameworks, component standards, and design system governance. eCommerce Storefront Engineering Design, develop, and maintain scalable storefront applications using: Next.js React.js TypeScript Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS) Progressive Web Technologies Lead implementation of: Product Listing Pages (PLP) Product Detail Pages (PDP) Cart & Checkout Search & Navigation Customer Account Experiences Merchandising & Personalization Experiences Define reusable component libraries and frontend platform capabilities. Collaborate with backend, architecture, and product teams to deliver scalable customer experiences. Commerce Performance, Caching & Scalability Architecture Current State (On-Prem Magento / Adobe Commerce) Define and govern the enterprise caching strategy across all commerce channels. Establish caching architecture covering: Full Page Cache (FPC) Varnish Cache Redis Cache CDN Optimization Browser Caching API Response Caching Search and Catalog Caching Pricing and Inventory Caching Define cache invalidation, cache warming, purge, and refresh strategies. Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to optimize origin load and storefront responsiveness. Establish performance engineering standards and monitoring practices. Future State (ACCS / EDS / Composable Commerce) Design and own the target-state caching strategy as the organization transitions to: Adobe Commerce Cloud Service (ACCS) Edge Delivery Services (EDS) Adobe API Mesh Adobe App Builder Headless Commerce Architecture Define cache hierarchy and governance across: Browser CDN Edge API Mesh Backend Services Design and implement: Static Site Generation (SSG) Server-Side Rendering (SSR) Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR) Edge Rendering Patterns API and GraphQL Caching Content Revalidation Strategies Define scalable cache invalidation mechanisms supporting distributed and composable architectures. Drive adoption of edge-first architectures that maximize performance while minimizing infrastructure costs. Performance Engineering Own and continuously improve: Core Web Vitals LCP CLS INP TTFB Storefront performance Search performance API latency CDN efficiency Cache hit ratio Customer experience metrics SEO performance Adobe Commerce & Composable Architecture Provide deep expertise across Adobe Commerce and modern composable commerce architectures. Lead frontend integration with: Adobe Commerce ACCS App Builder API Mesh Third-party commerce services Define storefront migration strategies from traditional Magento/PWA implementations to EDS-powered storefronts. Evaluate and recommend architecture patterns that improve scalability, maintainability, and upgradeability. Engineering Excellence Establish frontend SDLC standards and engineering governance. Lead code reviews and technical quality assessments. Drive adoption of: CI/CD automation Automated testing Code quality tooling Observability frameworks Performance monitoring Define best practices for: Accessibility Security SEO Performance Optimization Maintainability Skill Requirements 10+ years of software engineering experience. 5+ years leading frontend engineering teams for enterprise eCommerce platforms. Proven experience delivering global B2C and B2B digital commerce solutions. Experience leading frontend architecture and modernization initiatives. eCommerce & Commerce Platform Expertise Strong understanding of: Adobe Commerce (Magento) Headless Commerce Composable Commerce ACCS EDS Customer Journey Architecture Product Information Management Search & Merchandising Promotions & Pricing Checkout Optimization Frontend Technologies Expert-level experience with: Next.js React.js TypeScript JavaScript (ES6+) HTML5 CSS3 / SCSS Responsive Design Accessibility Standards Integration & Architecture Experience with: REST APIs GraphQL Microservices API Mesh App Builder Micro Frontends Edge Computing Event-Driven Architectures Cloud & DevOps Experience with: AWS and/or Azure GitHub Actions CI/CD Pipelines Docker Monitoring & Observability Platforms Performance Analytics Tools Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing Adobe Commerce Cloud Service (ACCS).
