VOLVO IT "Job Description: Senior Full Stack AI Engineer, Azure/.NET We are looking for a Full Stack AI Engineer with 8+ years of experience in designing and building scalable enterprise applications. The role requires strong expertise across backend engineering with .NET, modern frontend development, Azure cloud services, and AI-powered solutions including LLM integrations, RAG, and agentic workflows.This is a senior hands-on position for someone who can drive solution design, build production-grade systems, and guide teams on engineering best practices, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop scalable full stack applications using C#, .NET 8/9+, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and Entity Framework. • Build responsive frontend applications using React or Angular, along with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on Azure, preferably using Azure Functions, App Service, Key Vault, and Storage. • Build and integrate AI/LLM-powered solutions using Azure OpenAI or OpenAI APIs, including prompt engineering and embeddings. • Develop agentic AI solutions with tool/function calling, memory, multi-agent workflows, and orchestration patterns. • Implement RAG architectures using Azure AI Search or vector databases, including document ingestion, chunking, indexing, retrieval, and response grounding. • Work with AI frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, Semantic Kernel, and where appropriate LangChain or LangGraph. • Integrate enterprise applications and platforms using REST APIs, event-driven patterns, and distributed systems design. • Establish and support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub and Docker. • Ensure solutions are secure by design using OAuth2, OIDC, Entra ID, API security, and Responsible AI practices. • Drive architecture decisions around microservices, observability, resilience, scalability, and maintainability. • Mentor engineers, review code and design, and contribute to technical standards and best practices. Required Skills and Experience Must Have • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong exposure to enterprise application development. • Strong hands-on experience in C#, .NET 8/9+, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and Entity Framework. • Solid frontend development experience using React or Angular and TypeScript. • Strong cloud experience with Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Functions, App Service, Key Vault, and Storage. • Experience integrating and deploying LLM-based applications using Azure OpenAI/OpenAI APIs. • Strong understanding of RAG pipelines, vector search, document chunking, embeddings, and retrieval strategies. • Experience building AI agents with tool/function calling, orchestration, and memory concepts. • Experience with Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, or similar AI orchestration frameworks. • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven integration patterns. • Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and modern DevOps practices. • Strong understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, Entra ID, API security, and secure application design. • Experience designing microservices-based or scalable cloud-native architectures. • Good knowledge of observability, logging, monitoring, and production support practices. Good to Have • Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or other LLM orchestration frameworks. • Experience with Azure AI Search, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge ingestion pipelines. • Exposure to multi-agent systems and advanced workflow orchestration. • Experience in enterprise modernization or legacy-to-cloud transformation. • Familiarity with Responsible AI governance and AI application evaluation frameworks. • Experience leading small technical teams or acting as a technical lead.
