You have written scripts, whether for coursework or side projects, and you know the difference between code that works once and code that actually solves a recurring problem. You understand that internal customers are still customers, and when an engineer needs help getting back into their environment, your job is to solve the problem clearly and completely, not just close a ticket. At Synopsys, you will work on infrastructure that supports engineering teams building the technology behind AI, autonomous vehicles, and the next generation of chips. What You'll Be Doing Design, deploy, and manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure platforms including hypervisors and hyper-converged systems that support global engineering access and development services Investigate production issues from the ground up, identify root causes, and resolve them in a way that prevents recurrence Work on IT infrastructure projects from initial design through deployment, collaborating with global IT teams across the US, Canada, Europe, and India Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for Citrix infrastructure and related resources, troubleshooting issues for internal engineering customers in real time Automate repetitive processes using scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python to improve reliability and reduce manual work Collaborate with engineering services teams to understand their workflows and deliver infrastructure solutions that actually improve their productivity Support both Linux and Windows environments, moving between operating systems as the infrastructure requires The Impact You Will Have Engineering teams across Synopsys will have reliable access to the development environments and tools they need to build cutting-edge chip design and software security solutions Production issues that used to take hours to resolve will get fixed faster because you identified patterns and automated the fix Infrastructure projects you work on will improve uptime, performance, and scalability for thousands of internal users globally Your troubleshooting work will reduce downtime for critical engineering workflows, directly affecting product development timelines Automation scripts you build will free up your team to focus on higher-impact work instead of repetitive manual tasks Internal customers will experience faster resolution times and better service because you treat their problems like they matter The infrastructure platforms you help manage will scale to support new AI and cloud workloads as Synopsys grows What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field Hands-on experience working across multiple operating systems, including Linux and Windows Ability to write and debug scripts in at least one language such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python, whether from coursework, internships, or personal projects Strong troubleshooting skills rooted in a methodical, process-of-elimination approach to problem solving Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Experience with AI tools or platforms is a plus Exposure to DevOps tools, cloud platforms, or infrastructure automation beyond coursework is a plus Who You Are You can take a vague problem report from an engineer in another time zone and ask the right follow-up questions to narrow down what is actually broken Organization comes naturally to you because you know that managing multiple support tickets and project tasks at once requires structure, not just effort You do not need to know everything before you start, you are comfortable learning a new environment quickly by reading documentation, asking questions, and testing things yourself When you resolve an issue, you document what you did so the next person who hits the same problem does not have to start from scratch You work well independently but you also know when to pull in a teammate because the problem is bigger than one person You treat internal customers with the same care you would treat external ones because you understand that their work depends on the infrastructure you support The Team You'll Be Part Of You will join a global IT engineering services team supporting Citrix infrastructure and related resources across multiple time zones. The team is distributed across the US, Canada, Europe, and India, and you will collaborate with teammates in all of these locations. This is a service-based role focused on reliability, support, and continuous improvement of infrastructure that engineering teams depend on every day. You will start with Tier 1 support and grow into Tier 2 responsibilities as you learn the environment and build expertise in the systems and workflows your team manages.
