You Are: A seasoned SAP Finance Data Architect with deep retail and fashion industry expertise and a passion for designing the finance information model that clients run their business on. You have led clients through full-cycle SAP Finance transformations — from initial planning and analysis through build, test, and deployment — and you know how to translate ambitious reporting and profitability goals into a clear, governed finance data structure. You are equally comfortable workshopping the chart of accounts with a Corporate Controller, aligning profit center and segment design with a CFO, or coaching a junior consultant through a master data design decision. You bring specific depth in defining the finance coding block for retail and fashion — chart of accounts, cost centers, profit centers, segments, and profitability characteristics — and in making design choices that balance statutory requirements, management reporting needs across brands, banners, channels, stores and seasons, and long-term data governance. The Work: As an SAP Finance Data Architect in Retail & Fashion you will: Engage senior client Finance executives on how the finance information model supports business strategy, profitability transparency, and reporting — current and future. Lead the definition of the finance information model across all phases of full-cycle SAP delivery: Plan, Analyze, Build, Test, and Deploy. Define and govern the finance coding block for S/4HANA Finance: operational and group chart of accounts, company code and controlling area structure, cost center and profit center hierarchies, segments, functional areas, and other account assignment objects. Design profit center and segment structures that deliver P&L visibility by brand, banner, channel (store, wholesale, e-commerce, franchise), region, and category, aligned with merchandise, article, and location hierarchies. Define profitability analysis (Margin Analysis) characteristics and value fields, and the allocation, assessment, and cost-to-serve logic that supports retail and fashion margin reporting, including season and collection views. Establish finance master data governance — ownership, standards, naming conventions, and change processes — including SAP MDG-F, and lead the mapping and migration of legacy structures to the target model. Lead large, diverse project teams (onshore and offshore), maintaining quality, scope, and stakeholder alignment throughout delivery. Advise on SAP's Business AI strategy — identifying where well-structured finance data can enable AI-driven insight, automation, and predictive accounting in Finance and Retail operations. Contribute to thought leadership, reusable assets, and best-practice templates (e.g., retail and fashion reference chart of accounts and profit center models) to grow Accenture's SAP Retail capability. Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements Here's what you need: Minimum 8 years of experience leading clients through full-cycle SAP Finance delivery across all phases — Plan, Analyze, Build, Test, and Deploy — as a Finance Data Architect. Minimum 8 years of experience delivering SAP Finance transformations for Retail or Fashion clients (Grocery, Specialty, or Fashion preferred), with a focus on finance information model and master data design. Minimum 5 end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations including project planning, estimation, finance design, and go-live (SAP support / managed services experience alone will not satisfy the implementation requirement) Minimum of 3 years experience in finance data architecture and governance across S/4HANA, SAP MDG-F, data migration and legacy-to-target mapping, SAC/BW analytics, integration with IS-Retail/CAR, POS, and e-commerce, RISE with SAP, and financial controls/compliance. Deep expertise in defining the finance information model — chart of accounts (operational, group, and country/statutory), company code and controlling area design, cost center and profit center accounting and hierarchies, segment reporting, functional areas, internal orders and WBS, and the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) — including account determination, document splitting, and the impact of design choices on reporting, controls, and statutory requirements. Strong retail and fashion domain experience in structuring the finance model for multi-brand, multi-banner, and omnichannel P&L; store, distribution center, and e-commerce profit center design; merchandise and article hierarchy alignment; inventory valuation and merchandise accounting; franchise and wholesale accounting; season and collection reporting; and Margin Analysis characteristics. Prior experience in a consulting or advisory capacity with direct client-facing accountability. Experience enabling AI-driven use cases within SAP programs, including Joule, embedded AI, and predictive accounting, and an understanding of how finance data quality and structure underpin them.
