What You Will Do Pro vides support to the Product Engineering in the development of the Technical related to the packaging of product. 2. Develops packaging designs, handling all phases required to bring packaging concepts into productions as defined in the Molex Global PDP process. Pre pares all packaging component material drawings and Packaging Specifications for all packaging designs. Present packaging design concepts at design reviews and at meetings internally within Molex and customers or potential customers. Prepares packaging quotations, based on the newly developed packaging designs, comparing to alternative designs, when requested, so as to achieve the most economical design. Interfaces with internal departments (product engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, lab, sales and marketing) to ensure product and package design objectives are met in a timely manner as defined in the PDP. Providing package design samples internally and for customers. Works with Product Engineering in the development of the Design Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) related to packaging designs to help eliminate failures from the package design Prepares Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s), releasing packaging drawings and packaging specifications into Molex’s document control system. Develops the Packaging Validation Plan for packaging designs per Molex package Testing standards When failures occur, works with team to find solutions, using problem solving techniques, such as 8D’s Create packaging validation best practice and maintain it Supports current product packaging with continuous improvement and supports resolution of customer’s issues. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) 3 or more years of higher education in technical area (BSME, Industrial Technology, etc). Able to communicate (reading, writing and listening) in English; Good knowledge of packaging design and qualification process; At least 3 years of related experience as a packaging engineer. Familiarity with customer packaging design requirements and specifications. 3D solid modeling/CAD skills Basic PC skills, MS Word ( word processing ) , MS Excel ( Spread sheets ) , PowerPoint (Presentation skills) Knowledge of packaging failure modes and DFMEA process Problem solving capabilities, Design Validation Basic working knowledge of lab equipment used for package testing Familiarity with packaging test standards and testing methods Has working knowledge of manufacturing processes .
