Job description
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. About the Team The Engineering Systems and Tools team designs, builds, and maintains the internal systems, applications, and infrastructure that power engineering across Anduril. We own the CAD, PLM, and engineering data ecosystem that every mechanical and electrical engineer at the company depends on to design, iterate, and deliver defense technology at speed. Our team sits at the intersection of engineering, IT, and product development — we don't just keep the lights on, we build the tools and architecture that make Anduril's engineering org faster, more consistent, and more capable. If you want your work to directly multiply the output of hundreds of engineers building autonomous systems, this is the team to be on. About the Role The CAD Systems Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise CAD (Computer-Aided Design) ecosystem. This role bridges engineering, IT, and business operations to ensure CAD platforms, tools, and workflows align with organizational goals and support efficient product development. The architect serves as the technical authority for CAD strategy, governance, and integration across the organization, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, standardization, and operational excellence. What You'll Do • Evaluate emerging CAD technologies • Develop long-term strategies for CAD infrastructure and integrations • Support the establishment of CAD standards, best practices, and governance policies • Design scalable CAD system architectures supporting multi-site collaboration • Architect integrations between other CAD applications (MCAD, ECAD) and PLM • Ensure interoperability across CAD platforms and file formats (STEP, IGES, JT, etc.) • Partner with engineering teams to understand design workflow needs • Work with IT to ensure infrastructure supports CAD performance requirements • Provide technical leadership to CAD administrators and support staff • Support CAD documentation, standards, and templates Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience with CAD systems in engineering environments • 3+ years in a CAD administration, architecture, or leadership role • Proven experience with PLM/PDM platforms (preferably Teamcenter) • High proficiency in one or more major CAD platforms (preferably NX) • Strong knowledge of CAD file formats, translators, and data exchange standards • Programming/scripting experience (Python, C#, VBA, Lisp, or CAD-specific APIs) • Experience with version control and system configuration management • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration abilities Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field • Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, automotive, medical devices) • Knowledge of MBD (Model-Based Definition) and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in CAD and generative design • Experience leading enterprise-wide CAD transformations or migrations US Salary Range $191,000 — $254,000 USD <div class="
