Job description
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. ABOUT THE TEAM Modern threats move fast, adapt faster, and don't wait for legacy systems to catch up. The Maneuver Air Defense team exists to close that gap — putting the tools for safety-critical decisions directly in the hands of warfighters operating on condensed timelines in contested environments. We're building the air defense that the modern battlefield demands. We build vehicle-based and expeditionary systems that push the boundaries of design on multiple fronts. Our approach prioritizes ruggedized, lightweight, tightly packaged solutions that offer modularity while maintaining the manufacturability required to scale production at low cost — without compromises to our mission. The result is products and systems that are highly accurate, reliably self-calibrating, scalable, and attritable. They operate autonomously to provide robust mobile fire control capabilities at the edge, effectively closing the kill chain while contested and moving. ABOUT THE JOB We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our rapidly growing team in Irvine, CA . In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling prototype electrical designs to support early engineering development, integration, and testing. You will work cross-functionally with part designers to understand requirements and provide technical DFM/DFA feedback for design improvements. This will require hands-on experience with building harnesses, PCBAs, and other electromechanical assemblies. If you are someone with strong communication skills who proactively solves complex technical problems in a collaborative environment, then this role is for you. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Build, assemble, and modify complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping contacts, soldering various connector types, and routing wires according to schematics and build documentation. • Perform precision PCB rework and assembly, including surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole soldering, component replacement, and jumper wire installation under a microscope. This also includes conformal coating and staking operations. • Execute comprehensive test plans: set up, configure, and operate benchtop test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators, etc.) to verify performance of PCBs and integrated electronic systems. • Troubleshoot and diagnose failures in electronic assemblies (PCBs and harnesses) down to the component level using schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams, then execute necessary repairs. • Accurately document test data, rework actions, assembly details, and failure modes to support engineering analysis and continuous improvement. • Lab maintenance: Assist in maintaining the lab environment to clean and safe standards, including equipment calibration. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • 4+ years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, assembly, and rework in an R&D or production environment. • Strong technical literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, bill of materials (BOMs), and technical datasheets. • Demonstrated proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering (IPC J-STD-001 or equivalent standards). Experience with PCB rework, component replacement, and modification. • Proven experience in building and modifying complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping, soldering various connector types, and routing (IPC-620 or equivalent standards). • Proficiency in diagnosing electronic failures to the component level using standard test equipment and documentation. • Understanding of product development lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing. <l
