The Sr Commercial Counsel is assigned as the legal support/business counsel for the company’s Endovascular Robotics (EVR) division based in Newton, MA, supporting business leaders and interacting with cross-functional stakeholders to proactively address legal topics and mitigate risk across a wide range of commercial and regulatory topics, including clinical trials, collaborations and procurement agreements.This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As Sr. Commercial Counsel, you will be responsible for: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements to meet business and legal requirements, including highly complex go-to-market agreements and agreements with other medical device manufacturers or other parties Drafting and negotiating clinical trial agreements and accompany their execution to support development of new medical devices utilizing robotic technologies. Developing solutions which are compliant and serve the business need to support complicated business challenges. Serving as legal representative on EVR senior leadership team Partnering with different stakeholders (e.g. Quality, Regulatory, Medical/Clinical, R&D, Operations, Compliance, HR, and Commercial teams) to proactively identify, address and mitigate legal risks and bring business forward. Sound judgment; comfort making decisions while challenging and ensuring correct facts. Strong negotiation skills and practical, business-oriented approach to dispute resolution. Ability to independently lead and execute all facets of challenging engagements with highest integrity and ethics - from preliminary/conceptual advice, through structuring, negotiating, drafting, closing, and any subsequent conflict resolution. Required skills to have for success in this role Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to remain in good standing. 8+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house and/or law firm). Proven ability to communicate legal topics and risk and recommendations to business leaders in clear, practical terms. High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and, from time-to-time, internationally. Preferred skills to have success in this role Working effectively in a highly matrixed, global organization Experience with U.S. healthcare legal and regulatory environment, fluency with medtech industry strongly preferred. Fluency with the regulatory environments, including anti-kickback laws, fraud and abuse statutes, and privacy laws applicable to medical device manufacturers preferred. The base pay range for this position is: $185,340 - $254,848 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
