Job description

About Marvell Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities. At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead. Your Team, Your Impact Marvell’s AI Connectivity Group is at the forefront of enabling the world’s leading cloud hyperscalers to move data faster and more reliably inside and between data centers. Our PAM4 DSP technology powers 200G, 400G, and 800G intra-datacenter connectivity, while our Coherent DSP technology enables 100G and 400G inter-datacenter links. Marvell is the trusted partner driving the industry’s transition from Copper PHY to high-speed optical connectivity. What You Can Expect As a Sr. Staff Manager, Product Engineering in Marvell’s AI Connectivity Group, you will lead a team of product engineers responsible for the productization of cutting-edge datacenter connectivity solutions. You will drive new product introduction (NPI) from early silicon bring-up through mass production, while building and developing a high-performing, globally distributed team. This role requires both deep technical expertise in high-speed connectivity and strong people leadership to ensure successful execution across multiple concurrent programs. Team Leadership & People Management · Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product engineers across multiple sites and regions, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. · Hire and develop a diverse, engaged, and effective team — ready to take on new work and future leadership roles. · Manage performance, both motivating for top performance and taking action on poor performance. · Model and hold others accountable for demonstrating Marvell’s core behaviors and setting a tone of global inclusion. · Understand change initiatives; communicate and lead them effectively within the team. NPI Program Execution · Oversee multiple concurrent NPI programs for high-speed datacenter connectivity products (PAM4, Coherent DSP), including silicon bring-up, DFT validation, and test methodology development. · Provide strategic direction, hands-on technical guidance, and mentorship to drive successful NPI development across a global team of product engineers. · Ensure timely delivery of engineering samples to support early customer engagement and validation. · Lead cross-functional reviews and drive resolution of technical and operational issues impacting product readiness. Yield, Quality & Test · Drive yield characterization, root cause analysis, and correlation across bench, wafer sort, and final test to meet cost and quality targets. · Champion continuous improvement initiatives in test infrastructure, data analytics, and product engineering best practices. · Apply quality management tools (GR&R, Cp, Cpk) and statistical data analysis to ensure product quality and reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations · Align team goals to organization goals; develop work plans to guide the team and reduce redundancies. · Establish and adjust team priorities; allocate resources to deliver on plan and resolve disputes to remove roadblocks. · Partner with operations and supply chain to scale production capacity, qualify alternate sources, and improve manufacturing efficiency. · Develop mutually beneficial working relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, and partners; develop and monitor specific plans to deliver results. · Clearly communicate BU strategic priorities and function strategy to enable team understanding and alignment. Business & Financial Accountability · Deliver results against team and BU plans; measure programs, project plans, and team progress with clear accountability. · Plan and execute innovative team deliverables, services, and solutions. · Understand internal/external customer needs and actively communicate them to team and management to inform decision-making, applying Marvell’s Brand Pillars (Dynamic, Attentive, Real, and Tenacious). What We're Looking For Education · M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field. Experience · 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a strong track record in product engineering, device physics, and end-to-end NPI workflow. · 3+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing engineering teams. · Deep expertise in high-speed connectivity technologies (PAM4 DSP, Coherent DSP, or equivalent), with hands-on experience in silicon bring-up, yield optimization, and test strategy. · Experience with advanced technology nodes (10nm and below) preferred. · Proven success in managing cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers across regions in a global matrix organization. Technical Skills · Strong knowledge of yield analysis, quality management tools (GR&R, Cp, Cpk), and statistical data analysis. · Proficiency with ATE concepts (e.g., Advantest 93K, UltraFlex), test handlers, and wafer probers. · Familiarity with high-speed optical/electrical interface standards (e.g., 200G/400G/800G PAM4, 100G/400G Coherent). Leadership & Soft Skills · Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, set goals, motivate, and coach team members. · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, operations, and executive teams. · Self-directed, capable of managing complex projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. · Strong decision quality — able to make sound, timely decisions in urgent and non-routine situations. · Nimble learner who applies new concepts quickly and drives continuous improvement. · Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Expected Base Pay Range (USD) 143,560 - 215,000, $ per annum The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
