Join Bavarian Nordic as QC Manager for LIMS & Release and help your team deliver dependable system support and release activities that enable vaccine manufacturing. Your team and leadership environment LIMS & Release consists of 12 colleagues: four responsible for raw material release and Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), one dedicated IT Application Specialist, and seven working with daily LIMS activities and supporting the LabVantage project. The team handles raw material release and CoAs, maintains LIMS methods and specifications, and provides day-to-day support to end-users, primarily within QC. This includes troubleshooting and resolving LIMS-related issues. You will join a QC department of approximately 90 employees across six teams. Our Core Leadership Team of Senior Managers works closely with First-Line Managers, the Operational Excellence Partner and a Quality Integrator to develop people and processes and maintain strong quality oversight. QC is undergoing significant change as we support increased production demands, improve efficiency and reduce lead times. As a first-line manager, you will translate changing priorities into clear direction while maintaining employee engagement, well-being and a strong quality mindset. Your responsibilities Lead a team with diverse responsibilities. Create shared direction across release activities, application support and daily LIMS work. Provide feedback, coaching and development planning so employees have the competencies and support they need to succeed. Ensure dependable daily delivery. Maintain an overview of workload, priorities and operational risks across raw material release, CoAs and LIMS support. Balance daily activities with the team’s contribution to the LabVantage project and respond to changing QC and manufacturing needs. Maintain compliant systems and processes. Ensure team activities comply with cGMP and the Bavarian Nordic Quality Management System. Promote data integrity, accurate documentation and inspection readiness across release processes and the maintenance of LIMS methods and specifications. Connect users and improve workflows. Coordinate with QC end-users, IT and manufacturing stakeholders to resolve issues and align priorities. Use data and digital tools to improve transparency and workflows, strengthening the team’s support for laboratory operations and reducing delays. Your profile You combine a people-focused leadership style with an understanding of how laboratory systems and release processes support quality operations. You can bring colleagues with different areas of expertise together and translate competing needs into clear priorities. A relevant scientific degree and experience from a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment, preferably within QC, laboratory support or a similar operational area. Experience with LIMS and an understanding of the importance of controlled methods, specifications and reliable laboratory data. Experience with LabVantage is an advantage. An understanding of raw material release and Certificates of Analysis, or relevant experience supporting comparable quality processes. A solid understanding of cGMP, data integrity and Quality Management Systems. Leadership experience is an advantage, together with the ability to develop people across different disciplines. A structured approach to prioritisation and improvement, with clear communication and the ability to collaborate across laboratory, IT and manufacturing functions.
