Team: Finance – R2R Accounting | Location: Sofia, Bulgaria | Contract type: Permanent, office-first Take a look inside our Sofia office Team description Our global Record to Report (R2R) team keeps SumUp's financial reporting accurate and on time across every entity we operate, from payroll and inventory to intercompany transactions and fixed assets. As we hold ourselves to the highest standards in accounting and prepare for the next stage of our growth, this team's work becomes more visible and more critical every year. Leading this team of 16 accountants across Sofia and São Paulo means shaping how a fast-growing, multi-entity business closes its books, and giving the people behind that work the direction and support they need to do it well. What you'll do Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes for R2R, keeping financial records accurate, complete, and on time across all SumUp entities Coordinate audit activities and manage the relationship with external auditors to ensure smooth, timely delivery of annual financial statements Drive automation of postings and reconciliations, such as payroll integrations and scripted reconciliations, to free up capacity for higher-value improvements Own the annual stock count process, including the first-time count of field sales inventory Manage and develop a team of 16 accountants across two locations, setting clear goals and building a strong feedback culture Partner with Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, and People Ops to improve analysis, reconciliation and posting quality and support new business initiatives You'll be great for this role if... Track record of leading a finance or accounting team through a period of growth or significant change ACCA or CIMA member with strong knowledge of IFRS with experience applying accounting standards to complex, judgement-based transactions Experience coordinating audit processes and building relationships with external auditors Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where processes aren't always perfect and improvement is part of the job Fluency in English, with the confidence to explain financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders Why you should join SumUp 🌍 Opportunity to work with SumUppers globally on large-scale fintech products used by millions of businesses worldwide, from our modern Sofia office.
