This position reports to: Chapter Lead __ Your role and responsibilities Working in a brand-new Agile Organization in Smart Power Division and under Electrification Business Area, you will join a global and structured R&D team, and you will play a key role in identifying, proposing and implementing innovative technology and solutions by contributing with own ideas. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for: Realizing the architecture and block diagram of the electronic board, to describe them as a system, to identify the relevant rules like: isolation barriers, power management, functional blocks, internal and external communication, interaction with external systems. Collaborating within the Agile Team to ensure alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness in the execution of the user stories (initiatives broken down during the activities backlog creation). Contributing to discussions of intellectual property and secure patent right for ABB by driving the IP creation Collaborating closely with system architects and software developers to breakdown system requirements to requirement specifications for hardware. Monitoring technology developments and technologies to identify technical drivers for R&D projects, supported by your thorough understanding of key business drivers for ABB’s products and solutions Running the technology demonstrator development, implementing the executive drawings, the all-project documentation (from pre-feasibility studies to detail design documents which the test plan or whatever other required) and the required product documentation. Carrying out preliminary tests for design pre-validation, analyze the quality and reliability of the product at a theoretical level as well. Supporting the Test Lab during all the testing phases, evaluate synthesis of test reports and express your definitive opinion on validation of final product. Qualifications for the role Studies background in Electronics. At least 3 years' experience in design and analysis of analog signal conditioning/filter stages, power conversion topologies and digital circuit including industrial communication protocols Design experience of HW in industrial applications and knowledge in EMC testing and troubleshooting. Ability to read and understand technical specifications and electronic schematics. Ability to define high-level architecture and functional block diagrams during concept and feasibility phases. Ability to translate high-level product requirements into technical requirements and development activities. Understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and technology maturation activities Familiarity with Gate Model development processes (Technology Development/Product Development). Familiar with Altium designer or equivalent, PSPICE simulator and with electronic board re-working. Basic knowledge of oscilloscopes, function generators and others test equipment. Ability to assess technical feasibility, technical risks and product limitations and provide recommendations to Product Management and project teams. Proactivity, ability to create innovation, negotiation and networking skills. Motivated to work in an agile, dynamic workplace and cross-functional team with a self-reliant attitude to work combined with initiative and organizing ability At ease communicating in Italian and English.
