Application Engineer – Enterprise Automation & Application Platforms – 8_+ Position Summary The Application Engineer – Enterprise Automation & Application Platforms is responsible for implementing, configuring, integrating, deploying, supporting, and maintaining enterprise applications and automation technologies used to deliver business and clinical solutions. This role will work closely with Solution Architects, Full Stack Developers, Data Engineers, Automation Developers, Automation Analysts, infrastructure teams, security teams, and application owners to ensure solutions are technically ready, properly integrated, reliably deployed, monitored, and supported throughout their lifecycle. The Application Engineer will serve as a technical owner for application environments and integrations, with responsibilities spanning application configuration, infrastructure dependencies, connectivity, authentication, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance, upgrades, and operational readiness. The successful candidate will be able to independently troubleshoot complex issues across application, integration, infrastructure, network, database, and cloud layers while coordinating with appropriate technical teams to drive issues through resolution. Major Responsibilities Application Engineering & Implementation Implement, configure, maintain, and support enterprise applications and automation platforms. Partner with Solution Architects and development teams to translate solution designs into deployable application configurations. Configure applications and supporting services across development, test, UAT, and production environments. Establish and maintain application connectivity with databases, APIs, enterprise systems, messaging platforms, cloud services, and other dependent technologies. Support application installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, and version changes. Ensure applications meet enterprise standards for security, availability, performance, resiliency, and supportability. Identify application and infrastructure dependencies early in the project lifecycle. Develop reusable configuration and deployment patterns where appropriate. Maintain technical documentation for application configuration, integrations, environments, and operational procedures. Leverage GIT manage multi-branch workflows, merging, conflict resolution, and maintaining clean release pipelines. Application Integration Configure and support integrations between automation platforms, enterprise applications, APIs, databases, cloud services, and other technologies. Partner with development and architecture teams to implement appropriate integration patterns. Configure and troubleshoot API connectivity, service accounts, authentication, certificates, endpoints, and application interfaces. Support application integration with event-driven and messaging technologies where required. Coordinate integration of dependencies across multiple technical teams. Troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity and integration failures. Ensure appropriate logging, error handling, monitoring, and recovery capabilities exist for application integrations. Cloud & Infrastructure Integration Support applications deployed within cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Configure application components and dependencies within Azure & or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) where applicable. Partner with cloud and infrastructure engineering teams to establish required computing, storage, networking, security, and connectivity. Support application migrations and modernization initiatives. Coordinate firewall, DNS, load-balancing, certificate, service-account, and network-connectivity requirements. Assist with application scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and resiliency planning. Monitor application infrastructure utilization and identify performance or capacity concerns.
