(Senior) Manager Component Engineering The Component Engineering Manager leads the Component Engineering function responsible for component lifecycle management, change control governance, supply continuity, and technical risk mitigation across ASM's global product portfolio. This role serves as the key decision-maker and technical authority for component-related changes, ensuring that alternative parts, supplier changes, and product lifecycle transitions meet stringent technical, operational, quality, and customer requirements. Duties/Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategies to proactively manage component lifecycle risks, including end-of-life (EOL), obsolescence, supply constraints, and single-source dependencies. Serve as the technical authority for component selection, qualification, and change management decisions as part of change management related escalations. Drive consistency and compliance with corporate change management procedures and industry best practices. Deep understanding of Parts Standardization application, BOM management, and product lifecycle management in the semiconductor industry. Hands-on experience with obsolescence management experience Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence engineering, operations, and commercial teams. Develop and execute strategies to proactively manage component lifecycle risks, including end-of-life (EOL), obsolescence, supply constraints, and single-source dependencies. Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, and supplier partners to ensure component availability and continuity of supply. Lead cross-functional risk assessments and mitigation plans that protect manufacturing schedules, customer deliveries, and business continuity. Maintain deep understanding of semiconductor capital equipment systems and how mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components interact within complex product architectures. Provide technical guidance on component compatibility, reliability, performance, and qualification requirements. Collaborate with Product Engineering to provide standardization, platform reuse, and design-for-supply-chain initiatives. Own the development and governance of component change communication packages, qualification reports, technical assessments, and customer notification documentation. Ensure all communications are technically accurate, complete, standardized, and aligned with both internal and customer requirements. Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to explain technical changes, manage expectations, and resolve concerns. Drive adoption of best practices in technical communication across the Component Engineering team. Lead the deployment and execution of Global Product Operations initiatives related to component engineering and change management. Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and systemic risks, and implement sustainable solutions to improve organizational effectiveness. Establish metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators to measure change management effectiveness, lifecycle health, supply risk, and operational performance. Champion continuous improvement, digital transformation, and process standardization initiatives. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global Component Engineering team.
